Hello,

I did not get answer for the last question and I hope this one will be easier.

I like to plot stream lines in Prostar or another softwares.

It seems that it can not be done by usual prostar commands.

Does anybody have a macro to do that or do I have to use another software.

If a macro exists, please indicate me where I can find it. If there are softwares which are compatible with Prostar results and allowing this kind of plots, please say me which one?

Thanks for your help. Bjorn

Hi,Bjorn You can do it with STAR GUide. First, you go to this menu: Post-processing -> Particle Tracks Then click the 'Options' menu, you can find a new menu as 'Particle Tracking', what you want to do is just fill this menu. It is very easy and good to plot steam line. Good Luck. Regards/Yang

I do not well understand because I think that stream lines and particles tracks are not the same lines.

1) For particle tracks, you try to get x(t),y(t),z(t). That means that you follow a particle in the flow.

2) For stream lines, you have to solve :

dx/U=dy/V=dz/W

which gives you field lines vec(V).

So, sorry, Bjorn, but I do not have any answer to your question.

Regards

Vincent

You can plot streamlines only for 2d-problems. Use command getv stre.
