About block creation

Hi I've imported a 3D drawing from a CAD package as an IGES file; the first question is: it is better import as splines or surfaces to generate the block of the geometry? And then when I try to make a block, I define the splines for the most complex surfaces then I give the 8 points but always an edge of the block fails. Why? Could anybody help me? Thanks.

Re: About block creation

I finally got BLOCKs to work, but only after noting that the splines couldn't predate the block. Importing splines would appear to be futile: it's better to import STL's; they have vertices in space where you need them for the corners that define the block, then vertices at the edges between corners for forming the splines that will shape the block.
