The CD adapco Group would like to invite advanced STAR-CD users to the following training course:

VEHICLE THERMAL MANAGEMENT Computational Dynamics, London, UK September 24 - 26, 2001

This is a training course intended for STAR-CD advanced users engaged in the areas of vehicle thermal management. Topics covered during the course will include:

Advanced simulation of automotive heat exchangers, including radiators, heaters, charge air coolers, condensers, evaporators and others.

Analysis of engine compartment flow and heat transfer, including fan modeling, thermal radiation and boundary conditions.

Analysis of passenger compartment flow and heat transfer, including transient analyses, solar radiation, and initial and boundary conditions.

Analysis of automotive windshield de-icing and defogging.

The course will consist of a combination of prepared lectures, demonstrations, and STAR-CD sample problems to be setup and analyzed by the course attendees. Throughout the course, additional related "theoretical" topics will be discussed, such as turbulent wall boundary conditions (use of wall functions vs. two layer models), the use of low-Re turbulence models, and the interpretation and usefulness of computed heat transfer coefficients.

As part of the course enrollment fee, attendees will receive "limited capability" versions of the heat exchanger, deicing and defogging software, for use in solving problems having up to 100,000 cells.

The cost of the course will be £1400 per person excluding VAT.

If you would like to register please complete the registration form at www.cd.co.uk/support/courses/trainingform.pdf or contact info@cd.co.uk.
