reference pressure cell-where?

Hello, I have some problems with a pressure outlet. The flow in some cells is directed sharply inwards, although it should flow outwards. I thought it could be some problems with my choice of the reference pressure cell?! Does anybody know if there is anything important to receive attention choosing the reference pressure cell? Thanks, Micha

Re: reference pressure cell-where?

AFAIK, the choice of the reference pressure cell is only important in compressible flow.

Re: reference pressure cell-where?

If you have pressure boundary, then the reference pressure cell is not important.

Switch the "Environmental Pressure" option in the pressure boundary region definition.

Re: reference pressure cell-where?

I changed the boundary condition at the outflow from 'pressure' to a simple outflow condition, and got a good solution. Then I changed once again to pressure boundary and made a restart. Now the field was calculated as expected. Probably, there was an initial problem when calculating with the pressure boundary from the start on.

In Multiple Reference Frame, which have INLET-PRESSURE boundary coupled pairs, itÅ› important to use some coupled monitoring and referenced points pairs. Its would provide good or bad convergence.

If I have compressible flow field and do not have pressure BC, where should I define the reference pressure cell?

Thanks!
