Re: Deference between underhood and engine cooling

An underhood analysis focuses on the external flow within the engine compartment of a vehicle (and usually the external aerodynamics as well). Working fluid is air.

When you speak of an engine cooling analysis, it usually refers to the flow of coolant (anti-freeze), throughout the internal passages of the cylinder head, engine block, water pump, thermostat, etc... Working fluid is water/glycol mixture. Incompressible flow.

Good luck!
