Hi,

I am creating tetras in pro*am. But while creating subsurface it is giving proble. The subsurface is getting created above the geometry. Because of this the tetra generation batch run is coming out giving fatal error message that 'self intersecting surface' (surface check does not give any error of self intersecting surface) Has anybody faced this problem before? Please help. Thanks,

Sounds like your some of shell cells are facing the wrong way. Use the command PLFA ON to plot the faces by colour - I can't remember whether they should all be red or green, but they should all be the same.

The above confused statement is trying to indicate that the direction used for the subsurface is defined by the left or right-handedness of the shells. You may have to CFLIP some of them.

There have been many significant improvements, both in trimming and sub-surface generation, in ammbatch lately. Make sure you have the latest release from the adapco ftp site.

Thanks Brian and Paul,

There was problem of cell facing (as per Brian's comment) which is solved now. I did shell orientation in pro*am itself (GUI).

Thanks a lot
