Hi

I have some problems in deal with the stall in a multi airfoil simulation with STAR-CD.

I have cells enough and I have used several different turbulence models as well as different conditions for turbulence at far field.

Have anyone some experience with this subject?

I get good results of CL versus alpha for all alpha range except near stall where the lift continues increasing.

Thanks

ze

Hi

As you will find if you read a few texts on RANS solvers and their application to Aerofoil flows, this Phenomena is very common. Basically the turbulence model has difficulty in predicting the point of seperation on the aerofoil. Have a read of Wilcox - Turbulence Modelling, this should explain to you exactly what is happening.

Regards James
