Default Energy handling with STAR
Posts: n/a
Hi, In some of the stationary component compressible analysis STAR shows converged solution and we see there is a reduction in total temperature in the computational model.

Is there any specific way to avoid it

Thanks Veera

Check if your enthalpy balance (in the .info file) is OK. If not, since you calculate the total temperature from the enthalpy (provided that the Cp is constant), you should effectively find out a difference in total temperatures. The only way to avoid it: get down with the convergence criteria (use, say 1.e-4 instead of 1.e-3). To check the balance in the .info file, you need to have residual and conservation checks activated (STAR GUIde -> Analysis Controls -> Output Controls -> Monitor Numeric Behaviour)
