computation bug?

The problem is this: when I try to run the anaylsis interactively, the program runs through 1 iteration only. It stops calculating, then prompts: **** Calculations terminated - Job stopped by user intervention. I cannot figure out what the problem is, and it is not a machine-dependant problem either. I have checked my mesh - the only problems are some undesirable aspect ratios and internal angles - nothing that should stop computation. I have my iteration limit at 200, some symmetry planes, an inlet, and a pressure (for the outlet) boundary. What can I do to get some results?

Is there a file called ABORT in your run directory? If so, delete it and try again.

That worked. Thanks a bunch. What does the ABORT file contain, and why does it stop the computations? When does it get generated?

Re: computation bug?

It contains nothing. :)

When Star is running, it checks every iteration for the existence of a file in the current directory called ABORT. If this file exists, it stops the run gracefully, i.e. freeing up memory, writing all output files etc., and issues the message you see. The contents of the file don't matter, it just checks for the name.

This file is created when you use the "Stop Run" button in Prostar. You have to clear it by hand. You can also create it by hand to stop a run without bothering with Prostar.
