1. What version of STAR are you using?

2. Why do you think visual studio has anything to do with this problem?

3.Are you compiling user subroutines? If so, what language are you trying?

I can't think of any reason why STAR would be linked in any to visual studio so the whole question does not make alot of sense to me. You need to supply much more detail.

I use STAR-CD version 3.150A on windows 2000 with exceed. I think STAR and Visual Studio 6 are in conflict because before installation of Visual Studio I had not problems with STAR. I 'm not using subroutines. Thanks

Re: Problems with visual studio and star-cd

This sounds familiar to me. The problem is the following:

1. You have a new win 2000 installation 2. Then STAR-CD is installed 3. STAR dumps the evironmental variables (nearly 24) 4. Every good C++ programer knows that the windows plattform can't handle unlimited variables although it isn't mentioned by microsoft. 5. This means after the installation of additional software, maybe some routines or programs don't work anymore due to an overload of environmental variables. 6. So delete all variables defined by visul studio and star will work angain.

I'am sure this helps
