Hi; I am using an imported mesh with vertices defined (in Gambit) in to prostar. The symmetry planes seem to be defined, but when I try to select cell faces for inlet boundary conditions it gives me an error saying vertex ,, not defined. Questions: 1.How do I define all vertices? 2.How do I select boundary conditions based on vertices rather than selecting every face. Kindly give me an hint. Thank you in advance, Samir. have a good day...

Samir, I don't know the answer to your question. However, I would like to apoligize for the answer Rahul gave. Every once in awhile some must prove what an ass they are. Don't judge us all by him. Tom

It is possible that only the cells came through the import, not the vertices. Do a "vlist, all". If you have no vertices output then they were not imported or perhaps were never in the gambit file to begin with. You might try a different export route. Use gambit to write out nastran or patran and then try to read the model in prostar that way.

It is not possible to select boundary conditions on vertices. Boundaries exist on cell faces.

Hello Tom,

Thats okay. I understand and can accept the fact that all fingers might not be the same. Its all a part of the game. I pity such people, and, you surely dont need to apologize for someone you dont even know. Take it easy and thanks for the reply. have a good one. Regards Samir.

P.S. Who am I to judge? I'd rather be happy thinking of the good people around who offer endless help inspite of not knowing who I am and If I deserve it.
