Very Urgent: How to reduce no of cell types?

Hello Experts,

I am using STAR-CD 3.150 for Windows. While doing MixPert tutorial 3, it is writen that

"Reduce the number of cell types (Tools > Reduce Cell Types in MixPert GUI).."

But I could not find that menu command neither in Mixpert GUI nor in ProStar GUI. Would you please let me know how to find out that Menu item or equivalent command to reduce the number of cell types.

Thanks,

Harendra

Hello Harendra,

If I understand you question right, lets say you have cell types 100-1000 and you would like them all to be 50.

cset news type 100 1000

ctab 50 shell 5

cmod cset

Thanks Mr. Kevin: Would you please elaborate a .. December 1, 2004 10:32

Re: Very Urgent: How to reduce no of cell types?

Many thanks Mr Kevin,

I am actually not very clear why they (in the mixtert tutorial 3) are reducing the no of cell types. But it is written there " By reducing the number of cell types with the corresponding tool in the mixpert GUI we have ensured that every part has less than 20 cell types.."

[Ref. Mixpert tutorial page 29 and 30);Ver. 3.150A

Would you please give a little more light in this regard about how to do this and also why the menu command is not there, if possible?

Thanking for your valuable time and attention.

Regards,

-Harendra

Collect your current cell types to be within types 1-20 using the method stated by Kevin, and then use the command: ctco 20 1000 1 to compress away all cell table numbers above 20.

I have no clue as to why this is needed
