DEar Experts,

Here is a general problem: I am solving a natural convection case and my teperature drops below the initial value. There is no cooling, no air inlets, so the question is where does it come from??? it happens locally near the walls and in the cormers of the model.

I use the low Re no. k-eps model of turbulence.

Thank you

Check your wall boundary conditions (including the default region 0).

It sounds like one or more walls have a temperature below your intialization temperature.

Also check that the problem is real and not simply interpolation related.

Do you still see these low temperatures when you look at cell data (GETC) rather than vertex data (GETV)?

Hi,

The boundary values are ok, and getc shows this low temperature. It always happens near the wall especially in the corners of the mesh (but there are no warnings in the info file). Also if you inspect the minimum temperature in the info file you can see that it is 10 K lower than it should be...

but... magic! I've opened the different version of the mdl file (the same settings, just it's been stored in different directory and not touched during all the restarts) and it produces correct results! fantastic! am so relieved! (<- irony)

those files seem to be the same, they have the same size and so on, but one of them happened to be just slightly corrupted...

cheers
