Fortran Compiler in Star-CD

Hi, guys,

Except for the Absoft Fortran Compiler, is there any other Fortran compiler that can be used to build the user subroutine in Star-CD? I have Compaq Fortran.

If so, how to set the enviroment variables?

Compiler requirements are platform specific. There is a table in the installation notes.

If you do not have access to the installation notes, please be a little specific.

My guess is that you are on 32bit Linux. If so, the answer is no, only Absoft is supported.

Thanks first.

I have read the installation note carefully. It is said before Star-CD installation, Absoft ProFortran should be installed. I have no this complier. I am wondering if there are ny other alternatives.

This question has been covered before on this site. You can check the archives.

I am pretty certain the answer is that if the installation notes sais you must use Absoft then you can not substitute another compiler.

If you are using HP-UX, you have to use HP's fortran compiler. You only need a fortran compiler if you want to write user subroutines for STAR. If not, you don't need one at all.
