Re: es-ice
capabilities in what way? Its a utility that "sits" on top of pro-STAR and is used for generating moving meshes for in-cylinder cases. It still uses STAR-CD to solve the analysis and therefore can use all of the physics, control etc etc capabilities that STAR/pro-STAR has.

Re: es-ice
thanks for the response.. capabilities in the sense is it user friendly to generate moving meshes or better to go for avl fire or boost.

Re: es-ice
havent used fire myself, i have heard mixed things about it, some people say it is ok some say it is terrible. I have also heard that it is not being developed any more and is on its last legs, might be worth you sticking a discussion up in the main forum to find more about it.
In terms of es-ice, it isnt the easiest package to use but how it compares to fire I dont know. It takes a long time to get trained on it but I think once you know what you are doing, you can turn out a lot of simulations quickly. It is used by a lot of big engine manufacturers though and I guess that says a lot about it. STAR's moving mesh and combustion capabilities are also a lot more advanced than Fluent's so I guess that says something too. |
Re: es-ice
dear ben
our institute is planning to procure es-ice, right now we have evaluation license for one month, what is the sequence es-ice users following to generate a moving grid. i mean iges(cad surface)- prosurf - proam -es-ice -prostar. or iges-catia-proam-es-ice. in the tutorial analysis is given for intake and compression alone ...starting from 350cad to 720cad. if i want to go for 4strokes, can i start from 0 cad to 720 cad or we should start from 350 cad to 1080 cad. can you give me your email id so that i can contact you personally my email id is kiotak@yahoo.com regards kio |
Re: es-ice
