Hi, do somebody know how to import a Nastran file with nodes and temperatures to an existing StarCD model as wall boundary temperatures? At the end it will be the coupling of StarCD and the Radiation Tool Radtherm. Thanks a lot.

The easiest would be to fit it into a boundary table in pro-STAR. You'll find more details about this in the pro-STAR help under "tbread".

An other option would be to import the shells and results as user data and smap these to your 3d model (use option "nearest") and create an smap file. If you restart from the smap file you should be able to use bcdefw.f to read the boundary temperature at the bounary from the next interior cell and use this in the very first iteration (use the variable intflg or iter to check if you're still in the first iteration). If the value isn't changed, the very first (in this case the interior) value will be used.

Your support office will be able to provide you with an example how to write bcdefw.f.

Regards.

Thanks for the very good hint. I tried your workaround and encountered the next problem. I imported the shells and resutlts as user data. Then I did an vaverage to get cell data stored in Register 4. But then it was not possible to smap, because the pst-file is missing. How can I create one? Another question would be how can I specify that my results are temperature data?

Thanks again for your answer.

You probably need to run one iteration just to get a pst file. After that you can write youre imported, pmapped results to the pst file. I think the command is "oper, put" or maybe "oper, save". In that command you should be able to tell which variable you are saving back to the pst file. Have a look at the oper command in the pro-STAR help.
