Hello, i have a deformable mesh, transient case ie. many pstt files. At the moment i do not have ENSIGHT and through STAR-CD forum hints i create shells at one plane S1 i am interested in, then average scalar quantity with CAVER and then use PMAP to map on S1. I then output on file star.plot then go back and do cset news shells S1 cdel cset ccom all vcom all ctdel all and continue for next time step. I do the ccom all and vcom all for using as little memory as possible. Is this procedure right? Am i getting the CAVER data for each time step correctly or somehow faking something, specially considering it is a deformable mesh? I am unsure therefore please help. Thank you starcd_learner

It sounds right to me. I don't know why you need to delete and recreate the shells each time. You can either leave them or move the vertices with out having to delete everything but it doesn't hurt. You do realize that all CAVERAGE does is take cell centroid data and average it to the vertices to produce smoother plots? If you have moving grid data make sure you reconnect up to the event file so that the vertices/cells are moved in post-processing exactly like the solution run.

thank you, in my particular case, through a fluid-structure-coupling i dont have any event file.
