# calculating eccentricity of flow

 May 9, 2006, 08:14 calculating eccentricity of flow #1 rajesh Guest   Posts: n/a hello all i want to get the eccentricity of flow..i mean if a flow happens in a circular pipe,i want to calulate the distance from the centre at which the maximum flow rate happens.How can i calulate this distance in STar. thanx in advance, Rajesh

Put all cells with the highest velocity magnitude in a set. Load the x-coordinate for your new coordinate system and plot the cells. They should be coloured according to their distance from the pipes centre.
