to whom are expert in proam and fluent
hello
can proam deal with two volumes (internal and external) which are shared in some areas as inside the car and outside the car. in fact fluent is more powerfull than proam in this case also if i want to make susurfaces with difrent thickness for example spme areas i want to make subsurface 1.0mm but others i want the thickness 0.5mm proam cand somthinh like this.as fluent. please help me moh |

the new STAR-CCM+ mesher is a very powerfull piece of kit, can deal with multiple volumes both connected and disconnected, give it a try it certainly brings a smaile to my face!

You can do both. When creating your subsurface you will find possibilities to define internal baffles as well as variable subsurface thickness. refer to the manual for details.

For incylinder flow its better if you generate mesh with block method in prostar. If you use es-ice then there is no question of generating cyl. mesh. For moving piston in pro-star, it is necessary that you activate/deactivate whole cell layer, which would be very difficult if you use pro-am. And writting CGRID commands, ohh no.. you dont want to do that.

Pro-AM can do both internal and external meshing (check user guide & Pro-AM tuts). In case of subsurface you have to mention which surfaces you want different thickness.
Regarding incylinder problems. It is better to go for multi block method. |
