segmentation fault

I used Pro star amm. when I do it follow TUT until step 3 (generated subsurface), Prostar would close itself and show error " segmentation fault". What's this error? How to correct it?

Re: segmentation fault

I gues you are using the mesh wizard window for the tut. Try running the step 3 on the automesh window rather than using the mesh wizard. I hope this helps. Shariff

Re: segmentation fault

I have to deal with this segmentation fault every now and then. Every time a model is not very basic, then displaying cells, graphs or anything else leads to a segmentation fault. Is there a way to be sure that the memory we attibute to each variable is high enough to avoid this error. Is there a patch somewhere to face this bug? Regards, Laure

This error occurs when I am using the windows version, and all I can do is to save the model very often.

Re: segmentation fault

If you are using windows version v3.26 then there is a segmentation fault bug. You can update to v2.26.006. There is no problem is v3.24.

Re: segmentation fault

Segmentation fault occurs due to memory problem (may be insufficient RAM.You can try the following 1.upgrade the RAM. (As per your problem size) 2.Resize your param.prp file. 3.last option is delete the param.prp file and open your model. (while open the model param.prp file will be automatically created. 4.Insted of using 3.26 you can use 3.24 or 3.22 which are very stable.

hope it helps.
