Hey, does anyone know the details of what star-cd is using for surface to surface radiation heat transfer? I don't understand what these "beams" are and I need to know for my thesis.

hi suresh

beams are the radiation beams emanating from patch. The surface which is going to participate in radiation is divided into patches and number of beams per patch has to be given as input. The more the beams per patch the more the accuracy. For further details refer methodology and userguide of starcd.

Cheers, kalyan.
