how to solve muffler problems in star-cd

Hi,

i have collected information regarding the working principle of Muffler (component of a Automotive Exhaust System).

I want to this problem in Star-cd.

help in getting geometry & fixing Boundary conditions.

I knew Ansys-ICEM, so meshing of geometry is not a problem for me.

Advanced Thanks & regards aero

Re: how to solve muffler problems in star-cd

to solve the flow field in exhaust systems and manifold, it would be better to use star-ccm+. The reason for this is that star-ccm+ has the option to use modified k-omega sst model for high speed internal flows. It is the option 'free shear'. It is an important option for this type of flows. You can call your support office to ask how to download star-ccm+ and how to turn on the option free shear for k-omega model. You will also benefit from the coupled solver and handy porous media treatment.

Hi,

Thanks, for the information provided.

Can you give some information regarding getting a model on Muffler or any papers which provides geometrical details on muffler.

Advanced Thanks & regards aero
