I have STAR-CD v3.26.

While running pro-star is not opening. please give the installation procedures ..Please

Windows XP.

STAR Design opening.

But Pro Star is not opening.

Have you actually got a pro-STAR license, just because you have stardesign it doesn't mean you have one for other products

You can install it, but you won't be able to run it. Do you have the license or not?

Did you install and properly configure an X-Windows emulator? (Is that required in XP?)

I have Licence.

I installed. But i dont know installation procedure to configure.

why didn't your sales account manager send you the manual and installation notes with the cd-rom?

The account managers at cd-adapco uses CRM (customer relationship management system). When there is new release or new user, They always sent us

- cd-rom for the installation - hard copy of the manuals - installations notes

They also receive automatic notice from their system when it is just before renewal time and contact us.

You need to contact your account manager, that is his job to provide you with the info and the software in the form you want. They call it customer-centric. May be he did not do what he is supposed to.

Have you installed the graphic server X-Vision? You need it to run prostar!

XDisplay Not Found
 

What does the error "Xdisplay Not found mean " ..

i have a licensed version of 3.26 ..
it works well in one of my desktop .. but it is not running my brand new HP laptop .. with all feature :(

what does that error means .. someone help me out !

I assume your latest laptop has Windows 7, I don't believe the default X-server works on 7.

You could try running the XP emulation mode (if you have the right version of Windows 7). There may be another X server you could use. The Unix toolkit that comes with 3.26 also has problems on Windows 7.

I never got it to work but I have a Linux desktop at my desk that ran it fine so there was no real need to solve the problem. And then CD changed the license scheme to basically make it uneconomic to run 3.26.
