Hi

i did my analysis using Low Reynolds number K-e model. i got the Yplus value varying .5 to 3. but limitation of the K-e model is valid for yplus value in the particular range 20 to 100.

i am not interested to provide a coarse mesh in near wall region (around the solid Cylinder(fin)). because i want to predict the boundray layer seperation. then how to go further.

This kind of Problem may i use wall function

May i neglect the Yplus value.

Can you suggest me any other turbulent model for this kind of problem.

y+ for Low Re number should be 1

you can use hybrid wall functions which extend the range of wall function down to about y+=1. You have to select a low re turbulence model, but you just don't need the grid intensity, or try the V2f turbulence model.

I think 0.5 to 3 is OK with low reynolds number models. if you are able to refine it further, it is good.

Otherwise you can proceed with current mesh
