updating values at inlet boundaries

Hi to everybody

I'm trying to simulate fuel injection in a chamber and I've used inlet boundaries to do that. I need to modify the values of mass flow at one inlet boundaries, so I've changed values for velocity in the "Define boundaries conditions" panel and I've selected Restart (once new boundary values, once new boundary types) in the "Analyses Restart" panel.

It seems from the .info file that the mass flow trhough the fuel injection boundary is not updated. Can anybody help me?

thanks in advance

Stefano

Have you remembered to write a new problem file?

I did a simulation restart today. It did not work unless the problem file is rewriten. Eventhough it prompts that there is no changes to the problem file - weird I admit.

You should be careful with restarts and changing boundary types or values.

There is are two initial field restart options for this situation.

If I remember correctly, for a steady state restart the boundary values are taken from pst file and not from problem file. Therefore you have to use initial field restart.

You can always find the latest *.pst file in the results001 folder that is automatically generated when the solver is initiated and there is a pst file in the working directory..

So you will never lose data.
