Hi all,

I'm currently working on modelling an hot air balloon to do some simple cfd analysis. Point is I don't have any idea of I could model the balloon with the cad provided by star ccm+. I don't have access to any other software, nor I'm able to use real complex cad ones.

My aim is to create a simple geometry, and I thought of something like this: I could draw something like a part of a sphere, and then I could fill the lower part with some kind of 3d spline. I'm talking about spheres cause I don't care about the real geometry, I just need to simulate what happens when the hot air from the burner hit the top part of the balloon. The empty zone is the one designed for the burner. Now, I don't know how I could draw just a part of the sphere and how to model a 3d spline...

I hope you can help me with this.

Hey,
I am curious, did you find the solution? I am interested in doing this myself right now.
