Re: tutorials

fortran compiler you will need absoft (google it if you don't understand) and i recommend upgrading to 3.26, 3.22 is very very old

Re: tutorials

u mean if i use 3.26 i wont get any problem of compilin??

sijin james April 12, 2007 14:31

Re: tutorials

how can i add absoft for compilation??? please reply me..

Ben April 12, 2007 15:38

Re: tutorials

you need to buy it.....3.26 stop the compilation error if ever you use subroutines (as in this tutorial) you will need a fortran compiler. What field are you studdying?

Re: tutorials

i m doin my masters in internal combustion engines and as d part of my proj work i need to study these tutorials.. Just installation of absoft is sufficient or any connection needed to STAR CD software to compile??

Re: tutorials

The absoft given in tutorials is for linux i think. hw can i link it with windows even if i installed d absoft for windows??

Re: tutorials

Hi,

(a) absoft - you need absoft for windows too. If you have a fortran routine (in your ufile directory) you need to give it to star in a way he understadns. that is the job of compiler. I'd recommend you to talk to (a) your system admin;(b) the guy who bought STAR-CD at the university, you're unlikely the first user of the software.

(b) after you install absoft, you need to do some settings in a system. It's not hard - find the install manual of the star-cd, it's described there in detail.

(c) good luck!

sijin james April 13, 2007 09:55

Re: tutorials

Ben April 13, 2007 13:54

Re: tutorials

no...and absoft is sold separately

sijin james April 14, 2007 22:17

Re: tutorials

hii.. is it necessary to install absoft itself for compilation?? any other compilin s/w wil work for star cd?? i hav some other fortran compilers...

Re: tutorials

For windows you can only use absoft, linux you can use intel, pgi or absoft but you have to pay for all of them.
