Help: separators and centrifuges: CFD
Hello,
as a beginner: which reliable CFD algorithms should be used to simulate processes in separators and centrifuges ? What are the limits regarding particle size and separation efficiency ? Thank you |
Re: Help: separators and centrifuges: CFD
if u are researching on rotary machinary, the es-turbo & star-cd is advised.

thank you Mclaren, i will look at this.

Re: Help: separators and centrifuges: CFD
Please be careful with es.turbo. if there is any structure inside your separator and / or centrifuge then es.turbo simply will not work. es.turbo only works on a limited subset of geometries, and any deviation from this requires part of the model to be meshed separately in pro-am and the bits to be glued together.
I agree with Mclaren on the use of Star-CD for this application, but I would have used pro-am for meshing unless moving mesh is required then prostar becomes necessary. Reagrds Peter |
