Since you have tried to use the software you obviously have a license. CD-adapco products usually include the user guide as a pdf file. It is possible that the user guide is missing from es.sofc and supplied at the end of the training course.

Is there any reason why you are not taking the training course with this software? The tutorials you talk about are probably part of the training course. In this case the tutorials will not be issued. All training material remains internal to the company.

adapco has the documents you want so why not ask?

Re: es-sofc and es-pemfc tutorials and using guide

The first point to understand is that es.tools are known as expert systems. They make it easy to set up specific model involving a wide range of physics. These tools also contain application specific post-processing capabilities as standard.

Expert system means exactly that, behind the scenes you are expected to be a good user of Star-CD. You will need a Star-CD license to run the model. es.tools are pre / post processors only.

Start by looking at the adapco web page for the location of various offices and agents. Ask about the academic programme run by adapco.

As a student you know how much time you have for this project. Be realistic in what can be achieved because there is a learning curve for Star-CD before you can think about using an es.tool on the back of it.

Do not be afraid of talking to adapco about what is realistic as a student project. Why, because a smaller well done project will get you a better degree than a large project unfinished. In the background adapco will be happy to have a new user going into industry afterwards. Make absolutely sure that the University is aware and your supervisor is involved as well.

Regards

Dear Peter,

I know that what is es-tools.. how can use STAR-CD.. for example last season i used es-ice and have some results and i was happy..:):)

i said that cos I am user of STAR-CD too. but usually i use STAR-CCM+ for my many cases. at home i am using crack license like many users.

ok i will try to contact with cd-adapco for this issue. i hope they will not ignore my request.

thanks for your offers..
