Default Duct Flow Analysis

Hello,

I have imported a CAD model of a duct that I designed into ProAM. My problem is ProAM is treating the imported CAD as the working fluid. I can't seem to figure out how to actually make my volume mesh the volume inside the duct instead of the duct geometry itself.

I went through the tutorials and they all use a CAD model of a fluid instead of the case that I described above. I also used ProSurf to import the original geometry.

Can somebody explain to me how to make my volume mesh the volume inside the duct? Thanks to anybody who replies!

Extract the inner surfaces.

Use the hfil command to close the ends.

Run the corient command to get all the shell normals pointing the same direction.

Depending upon the geometry, you'll probably want to add line cells (live edge).

Tutorials & demos have little to do with the real world!
