Initialisation in transient simulation with ASIs
 
Hi,

I have a serious problem in setting up a transient simulation including ASIs with my state-state solution as the restart pst-file. For my steady-state calculation I had to connect (couple) the cell faces at the sliding interface (and delete the ASIs). The result is fine but it does not work as initialisation of my transient simulation.

Does anyone know why? Is there anything else I have to consider?

The flow is held in the reference frame of the fluid, not the absolute reference frame. The pressure and all scalar fields should be fine.

You therefore need to get the velocities in the global reference frame and then push them back onto the post file before SMAPping. UPDATE or operate putc should probably work.

I would advise taking a copy of the post file first as this may take a couple of tries! Once you have figured out the commands it is pretty easy.

Ok thanks, this sounds like an useful approach.

Starting my transient simulation I got this error message: __________________________________________________ ___________ *** READ RESTART FIELD FROM FILE turbine_neu.pst **ERROR - READING POST FILE:

ND1 / ND2 Error FB IN R9SF1 : DIMENSION ERROR __________________________________________________ ___________ Any idea? Does this match your approach?

This was the case in version 2.1 of starcd :)

Now it is possible to do the smap without dealing with absolute or relative velocities.

You try an restart run, which will not work.

You have to do a "rdat init c" to read the smap file.
