To get the SMD

Hi... My project is about the spray injection. I want to make a model of the spray injection by Star-Cd.

There are some problems in my model. Actually I used Huh's model as the atomization model and Pilch and Erdman model as the breakup model.

In the transient analysis. I want to get the data of droplet diameters(SMD). As you already know, SMD is calculated by droplet diameter.

Is there any way to get those data?

If I should use any special version of Star-cd, please recommend one.

Best regard. Thank you.

Re: To get the SMD

Just look at *.spd file in your working directory, SMD data is stored there. If you open that file in excel or any other this type of software, you will be able to plot SMD over every time step.

Thank you, usker..

But as I know, in the *.spd file, the SMD value is a average value of whole solution domain cell.

I need a SMD of the specific plane. Please help me one more.

I appriciate your advice again.

I would suggest you get a the format of the track file from CD - it's pretty simple. With that you can read the file and do anything you want with the data.
