Default Fixed Temperature in StarCCM+

Hello experts,

I would like to give one region a specified temperature (e.g. heat exchanger) like it was very easy possible in StarCD (code example in sorent.f). Unfortunately I have not yet found a reasonable way for that in StarCCM+. I was trying to use one stream heat exchanger but here I have to give temperature AND heat transfer but heat transfer should be more or less a result (for the moment I am not really interested in it). So the system is overdetermined.

The problem is now that if energy is too high temperature equation does not converge (temperature is limited to maximum allowable temperature) or if it is too low my temperature becomes too low.

Any ideas? Thank you for any help

Oliver

Change the max and min temperature limits from the Physics Continuum...

But changing max and min temperature limits from Physics Continuum changes temperature for the complete solution domain. I only want to have a fixed temperature in a part of it (e.g. heat exchanger of an HVAC unit).

Or is it possible to have two different physics continua for one flow domain?

Thanks for any help

To have a fixed temperature on a wall you should go to:

Physics Conditions (of the wall)> Temperature Specification > (by default it is on adiabatic, change it to Temprature) > go to Physics Values > under the Static Temprature set the desired temp.

I hope this helps.

I don't want to specify wall temperature, I want to specify fluid temperature in all cells of one region of my fluid domain.

In StarCD it is/was possible to do so. In StarCCM+ I didn't find a practicable way until now. Maybe this will be an option in one of the next versions.
