Simulates the rotating ball

Hello everyones,

I'm a new member. I'm learning Star-CCM. Now I want to simulate a ball rotating in fluid, using turbulence flow. But I don't know how to do it. Can you help me?

Another question is: I want to simulate a turbulence fow past an airfoil (likes NACA XXXX) but I don't now how to do it. Please show me what I have to do?

Thanks!

For simulation of a turbulent flow over an airfoil simply follow the tutorials in STAR CCM+ which shows the flow over a bluff body. I guess this is the
very first tutorial if you go from the help menu.

For rotational velocity specification, go under the specified boundary go to Physics Conditions -> Tangential Velocity Specification -> Method and select Rotational Rate.

hope this helps.

Thanks Vishyaroon! My problem is how to generate a good mesh for NACA section? can you show me what kind of mesher and what are the setting values for this simulation?
Thanks alot!

Meshing an airfoil will depend on the turbulence model you choose to work with. You may want to look into the details of the turbulence model and the near wall y+ it requires (this varies from model to model) for generating the mesh.
