for developers: bug or feature?
 

This problem is observed both in starcd and in starccm packages. In the file $HOME/.flexlmrc prescribes the line type:
CDLMD_LICENSE_FILE =...
If you do not make a transfer to a new line at the end of the line of this file (the character '\ n'), then starccm+ (and star-cd) crashes with "Segmentation fault".

I had to spend a lot of time before I found this feature :)
