In Star-CCM+ you dont need do generate the wind tunnel in CAD.

After importing your Testing geometry, you can create a block surface around your body. If you want to model the half windtunnel, you can enter the dimensions of it and then use the function "substract" to receive a closed volume.

i managed to setup the surface block. however when meshing the block and the object inside the block, the object inside the surface block was lost. how do i define the block to work as a wind tunnel and the object as a solid object in star cmm. please provide some tutorial. i am trying to do the simulation in 3d. Regards

I faced the same problem.

I have a geometry of my specimen that I want to test. I placed a rectangular block over my specimen and my specimen was lost in the block.

check the user manual, for the tutorials see the below link assuming you've installed star in the default location. the below tutorial show's how to do it in great detail.
Tutorial Guide > Motion > Marine Resistance Prediction: KCS Hull with a Rudder > Mesh Generation > Creating the Towing Tank

with that being said, the user manual is your friend, use it for all its worth... it's probably best to start there before you start posting threads on here looking for people to solve your problem for you
