I am completely new to CFD. I am a 2nd semester Undergraduate Mechanical Engineering student and have no background whatsoever in CFD. My professor gave me a water jet assignment to be submitted before the end of the semester.

Essentially what I want to do is relate the Pressure required to cut a material upto a certain depth of cut using a water jet while varying the nozzle size, traverse speed, stand off distance etc etc

I installed ansys two days back and still dont understand how to tackle my problem. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out.

Are you required to use CFD? It seems you could solve the problem doing hand calculations
