flap meshed with shell > surrounding CFD Mesh has weird look in CFD Post
In my FSI problem, I compute a Flap that is deformed in a channel. The flap is so thin, that I modeled it as shells. Therefore, the surrounding fluid mesh has a very thin wall.
In post-processing, I have only access to one surface, which represents the flap. There is no front or back. Therefore, they somehow invented this culling effect which is ugly as hell. Some faces are directed in the front direction, some in the back direction. You have no consistent high pressure region due to the fluid stagnation.
Is there a way in CFD-Post to avoid that surface problem? Can I choose only to see the front results?
I could solve the problem!
In ICEM, I forgot to set the importet file, that is meshed with shells, as internal wall. That feature brings two available faces into play. :)
