Good morning
I'm doing one work for college about wingtips. Currently I'm drawing the airfoil using raster image on autocad (3points arc) then exporting it to inventor to extrude and then exporting to ansys cfx. I tried to draw the wing importing the points to inventor and using the spline, when I generate the mesh with the automatic method, one error message appears. how do you model wings for CFD analisys ?? thanks |

I use a similar approach but using a different solid modelling package. But that is not your problem. You should not mesh airfoils with the automatic method, it will give you a poor mesh even when it does generate a mesh. You will need inflation layers at least, but more likely you will need a carefully generated structured mesh.
