Temperature Damping
 

Could some one please let me know in which cases a temperature damping factor is used in CFX

If you don't know what it is for then leave it at the default :)

The documentation will probably recommend using it for some models - I suspect combustion modelling may be helped by it, and possibly some others (but that is just a guess, you should check for yourself).
