Question about CFX-pre and CFX-post

Hi everyone,

May I ask if there's a way to set the volumetric flow speed through a surface as the inlet boundary condition in CFX-pre? And is there a way to calculate the volumetric flow speed through a surface from CFX-post?

Best regards and many thanks,
lnk

Use a velocity boudnary condition, and use some CEL expressions to convert a volume flow rate to the veloicty.

To get the volume flow rate from an existing model use the function calculator in CFD-Post.

if you have the inlet density you can use a mass flow inlet boundary

Yes. I have the inlet density. How to set mass flow as inlet boundary condition?

It is one of the options.

select mass flow rate as inlet boundary and mass-flow-rate=volumetric-flow-rate*density or velocity=volumetric-flow-rate/inlet area
it's quiet easy! what is your problem?
In cfd post you can do it by defining an expression: mass flow average@inlet
