Sail design

Hi everyone,
I'm am doing a project on sail flying shape prediction with ANSYS. I am using CFX in particular. As part of my project I need to carry out a flow analysis on a 2D sail profile (sail section seen from the above) and one of the requirements is that the sail should have zero thickness. I have created the geometry in GeometryModeler using the "3D curve through XYZ points" tool then extruded it by 1cm in the z direction as I know CFX doesn't deal with 2D objects. My domain is a rectangular box 1cm deep in the z direction. However, when I come to create the boolean, it would't let me and an error message comes up saying "the operation would result in non-manifold bodies".
Does anyone know how i could overcome this problem and create the boolean for the zero thickness sail?

thanks
Umberto

I don't know if this is the correct way to do it but you could create two bodies where the intersection between them is the 2D shape of the sail. You could put two more bodies on the side for the flow around the sail. Create a part out of it.
Then in CFX Pre, define all bodies as a single domain and model your sail shape as a wall interface. All other connections leave default (conservative interface flux)
