I was simulating a transient flow. I set up a monitor point at a certain location to monitor the velocity. After the flow had been solved I exported the monitor point data from the CFX solver manager. When I went to CFX post and plot the velocity at that same location versus time and then exported that data, I found the velocities to be totally different from the ones I got with the monitor points, but they are at the same location. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I'm using CFX 14. Thanks a lot.

How much different are they?

I am pretty sure the solver monitor point just uses the nearest nodal value but CFD-Post interpolates, so if the flow has steep spatial gradients this would explain some difference.

Thanks for the clarification. The values at every timestep were different but I calculated the RMS value of the velocity they were off by 1% ish. I guess I can consider them the same.
