Error during the save of the solve

Hi, my name is Fabio. I'm new of the forum.

For my graduate thesis, I have to simulate an hydrojet with two external volume: one is for the water upstream of the intake of the system and the second is for the air downstream the pump.

My problem is that sometimes, while the solver is saving the backup file, I have this error message (and i lose my job)

+--------------------------------------------------------------------+
Writing backup file 100_full.bak
Name : Backup Results 1
Type : Standard

+--------------------------------------------------------------------+
An error has occurred in cfx5solve:

The ANSYS CFX solver exited with return code 1. No results file
has been created.
+--------------------------------------------------------------------+

End of solution stage.

What does it mean? And how can I fix it?

The overall mesh has about 15 millions element and I'm working with an i7 3770 processor with 32 gb of ram and a ssd.
I usually set 6 or 7 processors for the work and the task manager says that there is about 26 gb of busy ram.

Sorry for my bad English and thanks for your help
Regard
Fabio

I do not know what the error message means, unfortunately CFX has lots of unknown error messages.

My guess is that the writing of the results file in parallel mode has failed. This could be due to a network glitch or connectivity or maybe a full hard drive on the host or nodes. But this is just a guess.

Hi ghorrocks!

Thanks for the reply!
Today I try to select the "Essential" type for the backup and until now I don't have any problem. Let's see...
