Does anyone know how to make an animation like this?
 
Dear all,

Does any of you know to make an animation like this?

I am currently using CFX to simulate the mixing of two fluids. I want to see how these fluids mix and have a visualized sense of the reaction of water particles.

So my question is, is this animation available in CFX-post after I run the model for the two fluids? OR I have to pre-define like'tracer-particle' something in both fluids and then see the particle moving in the post?
If I do need to define extra material, what properties I need to set up?

If you carefully read the description, it is the same fluid (water) at both the inlets but at different temperatures. You can create the streamlines from both inlets and then represent them with balls. I think it is covered in the tutorial inject mixer.

On a retrospect, it depends on what meaningful results you want from your simulation. Very rarely anyone troubles to use CFD to generate just animations! We have better softwares for that!

Create Streamlines from both inlets. Then under options uncheck "show streamlines" then go to quick animation and choose override settings and choose the options for what you would like to display, and hit play. Once it looks right hit save animation, and stop recording when you are done. You can pick much better looking options than those groups of balls too.

Animations are great for impressing people, especially when you show colorful transient animations of turbulent flow, or natural convection swirling around, but Glenn's right about not getting much meaningful information from them. But people like to see this sort of stuff just for the cool factor. I I had a company that ran one of my animations on a loop in their "instrument testing showroom." They really liked it and It got me more work.
