Setting Domain for two parallel fans

Hi everybody,
I hope you are all well.

I am modeling two parallel fans using CFX-Pre. I have created mesh for one fan and copied it where the second fan is placed. The next step which is defining Domain for them has faced a problem.

I used below instruction after inserting both meshes:
Insert --> Domain --> Selecting related main passage and setting axis using two points.

Unfortunately it returns below error:
"In Analysis 'Flow Analysis 1': The same location has been specified for more than one domain." and cannot create both domains.

What should I do?

Any suggestion is very welcomed.

As the error message says, it simply means a mesh domain is in more than one domain. Check which meshes are allocated to your domains and you will find a duplicate in there somewhere.

Sorry for my basic questions. I am new to CFX.

As you said there was a duplicate in domain. Now, that error has disappeared!

But there are some problematic errors related to interfaces! Actually the interfaces which has been defined correctly and as it could be seen in below picture, although it is needed to define two inlet and two outlet; there is an inlet and outlet!

Your image is not readable.

But the error looks the same, just on the boundaries this time. Check for duplicate boundary faces between boundary conditions.

As I said I am new to CFX and don't know exactly how to define the BC around a fan. Is there any good tutorial for it?

The tutorials which come with CFX are the best place for the basics.

You have multiple ways of selecting regions for boundaries and domains. You can select them by clicking on them in the graphics window, you can select them by named group, you can select them by mesh primitive or you can edit the CCL directly with a text editor. Try them all out and get a feel for what is good for what purpose.

Dear Glenn,
I hope you are well.

I defined BC for both fans and the errors came out. It solved the Domain, but there seems to be a problem somewhere...
As it's showed in below picture,there is basic difference between the geometry of two fans although there were similar.(I created second by copying mesh of first)
What should I do?

Hi dear Glenn

Thank you for your attention.

It don't show any error for it. My problem is that the geometries should be the same because I transferred first mesh in x-direction to create second mesh and then loaded the first mesh. So I expect that the geometries to be exactly the same as each other. But they have basic differences as showed!

I am so confused about it! Once I tried to transfer the geometry in TurboGrid and this problem appeared, so as a friend advised I transferred the mesh in CFX-Pre.

Doesn't this mean you just transformed part of the mesh, not the whole mesh? Then right click on the whole mesh and transform it.
