Grid sensitivity question
Hello,
I'm doing a grid sensitivity study. Hypothetically let's say I have three meshes: - Mesh 1 - Mesh 2 - Mesh 3 Each mesh is different. I have a transient solution for mesh 1, but not for mesh 2 or 3. Is it acceptable to use the results from mesh 1 as the initial guess for mesh 2? Likewise is it acceptable to use the results from mesh 2 as the initial guess for mesh 3? The alternative method is to (for all three meshes): - Compute a solution using steady state - Using the steady state solution as the initial guess compute the transient solution I hope that makes sense! |
An initial guess is just a guess, so as long as your simulation converges you should be fine with using the coarser mesh as initial guess on the finer meshes.
