Hi,

i have got a question about the use of CEL Expressions in ANSYS CFX.

I want to define the Massflow through an Inlet by using an cel expression. The density of the fluid is temperture depenent, but the temperture of the fluid entering at the inlet is constant during the simulation. Until now i evatuated the density at the given inlet-temperature manually and enterd the result in the configuration tab.

My question is:
Is there an cel expression to evaluate the density at a given temperature?

Something like:
Inlet_Density = evaluate(Oil_Density,300[K])

Thank for your help.

You cannot define something like the "function" gizmo in most programming languages. So just write the expression out for each variable which uses it. Alternately you can use a 1D or 3D interpolation function.

Thank you ghorrocks for your replie.

After reading your reply I realized that the my posted question was kind of sensless. In the end i don't know what i was thinking, when i was posting it.

According to your reply, i will just copy the expression for the density an fill in the expression for the inlet-temperature at the nessecary places. Thanks.
