Stage Interface errors & requirements
first: Thank you very much for this forum and the FAQ! Helped me a lot!
But now i have a problem and don't find the problem..
I want to calculate a cavity chamber as rotating domain with a inflow from a non-rotating domain. So i modeled the two domains, the chamber and the inflow, and connected them with a stage interface. The chamber has a 120° symmetry and i modeled the inflow as a 10° part.
The calculation is always hardly diverging at the stage interface. I can bring it to converge if i use a frozen rotor. But surely then i only have a local inflow.
So my questions are:
1) Are there special requirements for the axial and circumferential velocity (for stage interfaces)? Because i only have a very small axial flow through the interface compared to the circumferential velocity..
2) I found some local backflows over the interface.. How stable is a stage interface with this kind of initial problems?
I hope you can give me some advice from your experience with the stage interfaces about its stability and special requirements..
Thanks a lot :)
