Question about using adaptive grids for conjugate heat transfer
Hi,
I'd like to use adaptive grids for the solid part thermal stress analysis in conjugate heat transfer simulation. But it seems that CFX can't do that, can't it? If CFX can't do that, could you recommend a software which can do that? By the way, I didn't find the option to output the thermal stress distribution of the solid part in CFX-post? Could you tell me where is it? |
CFX is a fluids/thermal simulation package. It does not simulate stress. ANSYS mechanical simulates stress, but mechanical can be coupled with CFX to simulate thermal/stress coupled simulations.
So do you want to use an adaptive grid on the thermal field or the stress field? |

http://www.answers.com/topic/thermal-stress . If I'd like to analyze the thermal stress of the solid part by conjugate heat transfer simulation, I'll need to simulate the flow and solid part together. How to couple CFX with mechanical analysis software in Ansys? |
There are tutorial examples of coupling CFX and ANSYS together provided with the software, and more examples on the ANSYS Customer site.
